Graduation 2017

On Friday 06 October we celebrated graduation for students across our centres, which took place at St Mellitus College, London. 86 students graduated, with 79% of those students receiving a 2:1 or higher.

President of St Mellitus College Bishop Graham Tomlin opened the graduation service with a welcome to alumni and guests. Revd Dr Andrew Emerton, Dean of St Mellitus College followed with his own welcome, and an introduction to the graduation ceremony. They were joined by Professor Kevin McDonald, who presented the Middlesex awards, and by Professor Sarah Coakley, who joined in the ceremony, and who preached at the valedictory eucharist.

Following the presentations, students from a number of our programmes shared reflections about their experience at St Mellitus College, including Rebekah Boreham, a Theology and Youth Ministry student, Revd Debs Wignall, a full-time ordinand, Revd Mark Arnold, a part-time ordinand and Clem Hutton-Mills, an LLM.

Bishop Graham presided at a Eucharist service, and Sarah Coakley, Norris-Hulse Professor of Divinity Fellow at the University of Cambridge shared a sermon.

The service was followed by a lunch for staff, alumni and guests to celebrate the day.
