The Book of God? The Bible in a Disenchanted World by Prof. Walter Moberly

Liverpool Cathedral

St Mellitus College, North West is proud to host the final of the McDonald Lecture Series 2017 which will take place in Liverpool Cathedral on Monday 06 November 2017.

Walter Moberly, Professor in the Department of Theology and Religion at Durham University, will speak on ‘The Book of God? The Bible in a Disenchanted World’.

Awarded an MA at Oxford and both an MA and PhD at Cambridge, UK, Professor Moberly is also an ordained priest in the Church of England. He writes, “The overall concern in my scholarly work is the responsible understanding and use of the Bible in the life, thought, and spirituality of Christian faith today. Although I wish to read and respect the biblical texts as ancient texts I wish also to articulate the dynamics of their enduring significance as Scripture.”
