St Mellitus College offers a flexible and innovative part-time training route to ordination. We offer a Diploma over three years in Theology, Ministry and Mission (validated by Durham University).

A key value of this course is learning the skill of relating theology to the whole of life – work, church, family, home, society. The opportunity to study while still engaged in all these gives an ideal way to work out how faith impacts the world today.

Students study together one evening per week, either in:

  • London on Tuesday evenings, OR
  • Chelmsford on Thursday evenings.

The timings are as follows:

  • 6.30 – 7.00 – Dinner
  • 7.00 – 7.30 – Worship
  • 7.30 – 9.15 – Teaching

In addition, there are seven residential weekends (including a retreat weekend) and one residential study week per year, attended by both part-time and full-time ordinands.

Those new to theological study work towards a Diploma or BA in Theology, Ministry and Mission validated by Durham University.
