Glowing report for theological college

ST MELLITUS College in London has received a ‘glowing report’ following its first inspection report.

The college, which saw its first graduates being ordained as deacons this summer, was commended by the Ministry Council inspection team.

Patron of St Mellitus College

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, has agreed to become the Patron of St Mellitus College. This is a largely honorary role, but the Patron usually offers support for the college and is available for advice as and when neccessary. His wife, Jane, of course teaches within St Mellitus and from time to time he has been to teach on various courses in the college’s life in the past.

New Associate Lecturers at St Paul's Theological Centre

We are thrilled to announce that Paula Goodar and Pete Grieg have become Associate Lecturers at St Paul’s Theological Centre (SPTC) which is one of SMC’s constituent members.

Paula is a freelance writer and lecturer in Biblical Studies. Her research areas include the writings of Paul, with a particular emphasis on 2 Corinthians and Mysticism, Biblical Interpretation and the Development of Ministry in the Early Church.

Graham Tomlin speaks at the consecration of the new Bishop of Kensington

The new Bishop of Kensington, Paul Williams, was consecrated at St Paul’s Cathedral on the 25th March 2009.  The service was led by the Archbishop of Canterbury, assisted by the Bishop of London, the Bishop of Winchester and the Bishop of Oxford.  

The sermon was given by the Dean of St Mellitus, Revd Dr Graham Tomlin.  Please see attached a copy of this.
